we have 5 more days till christmas break:) i cant wait but ill most likely end up being bored and wanting to see my friends. but anyways in english weve been talking about gays and civil rights. and then now were into the mystery unit which i think will be a good unit. i loved mystery books like a few years ago and i miss reading them anyways so im sure this unit will get me back interested in them. but anyways im still excited for this break i think ill be getting something nice for christmas even though i didnt really ask for anything. but anyways, what do you think you guys will be getting? bye bye

So these articles and movies that weve been watching about the german concentration camps and the camps in america have really surprised me. i mean come on in the movie that we watch about the german concentration camp one guy found the huge pile of dead bodies, thats disgusting. but of course back then the jews had no rights according to the nazi power. these camps were just absolutely horrible in my opinion. they were wrong to even build these camps for bad things. but thats the way life was back then and we cant change it, all we can do is learn from it. well i got to go bye

Civil RIghts

         In the couple chapters we read of "Nightjohn" we learned how much slaves are very mistreated. first of all the ate out of a trough, and thats just wrong. they shouldve have been treated like humans not animals. These are rights that were taken away from slaves. but we learn of the slaves hardships from a slave named Sarny. she shows the readers the hardships and unfair treatments from the slave plantation owner, Old Waller. She describes the treatment Old Waller gave to his new slave Nightjohn. Now this man has escaped to the north and felt what it feels like to be free. So he comes back and wants to teach slaves letters so they can write about the unjust treatment by the slave plantation owners.
        The other story we read was "Mascot" which was about the famous civil rights activist Malcom X. Now is this story was set in his teenage years. After being beaten in boxing by a white man, he was completely disgraced. Then after getting in trouble many times at one of his schools, he gets sent to a "detention school". now their at that house everybodys white but him, but the house owners talk about him all the time. they even said racist comments right in front of him and talked as if he wasnt there. He gets treated kind of equal at his new school, he becomes class president. Then when he visits with his aunt Ella he sees the black peoples life and loves it. Then he realizes the white people were just trying to be considerate, but he felt more at home with African Americans.
        The movie The Great Debaters and Nightjohn are similar in many ways. First of all the both were set in the south were segregation and racism was a very common thing. Both things show how much unfair treatment was layed upon African Americans. Both showed how much the whites hated black people, by showing a lynch mob in the movie, and slave owners in Nightjohn. Now the similarities in Mascot and The Great Debaters is they both show some equal rights at times. one example of this is the fact that white people were treating Malcom X very nice. In The Great Debaters harvard was a very white based school and they allowed a black college to vs them. The White people at harvard treated them as equals, gave them all the same rights as the whites had.

these two days have gone back kinda slow, maybe its because i had so many tests and projects due:/ and even still i have to write the essay thingy for english monday): but i got to visit eastland career center and i liked it. but anyways the movie that we had been watching in english was actually super good. it drew you in like no other because it was wrong what they did back then with lynching and everything. everybody should have the same rights under the constitution. but i cant wait for thursday im gonna be eating some turkey all day(:

this week has been going by slow and not very good at all. i was supposed to get a new phone but nopes thats not gonna happen at all. but english has been ok, weve been reading books about civil rights and how it is wrong. but the movie were watching i like it so far because it really gets to people in a clear way. it is very interesting so far and id like to finish it, good thing we only have  a 2 day week next week(: but people at eastland get the whole week off):. i tihnk we should get early release from english and school on tuesday(: ok im out bye

so this week has been super crazy, i mean monday i went to a funeral(very sad day). tuesday i was so lost on what all my classes were doing, because they did alot even on a shortened day monday. but i got caught up, but english right now is pretty funny. i mean we have will in our class getting into fights with mr.potter. but at times that can get agitating and i feel sorry for mr.potter. but anyways  i need to get off and do laundry. bye

so this week has absolutely sucked, i mean last sunday was great, and then wednesday completely sucked. but anyways im just really tired of doing these blogs but hey they get my grade up so im fine with them. but anyways yet again were finally done with to kill a mockingbird, and the play is this coming week i think, and i tihnk we get to see the first rehersal. < dont know how to spell that word ha! but this book were about to finish called 12 angry men is very boring. i thought the kid was not guilty from the beginning he was convicted on very small evidence and all the evidence and testimonies were proven wrong. but anyways my laptop is dying yet again so i gotta go bye bye

finally were done with the book to kill a mockingbird. but it was a  good book, but it kept confusing me at times. the movie made kind of no sense to me, it kept skipping parts that were important. but i was surprized about boo radley helping jem and scout out. but to think he was the one who killed bob ewell, and i kind of get the meaning of the books title. but im not for sure so i wont say(:. welps bye bye

so in english were reading to kill a mockingbird still. its super long, but i actually like the book. it has many turns that you dont see coming. and the i cant beleive that the verdict oft he trial was that tom robinson was guilty! but it happens and its just a book. but the book is so interesting like it keeps pulling me in. but at times it does get boring but that you cant help it all depends if you like book or not. but anyways im tired and i got to finish reading the chapters needed so good night.

So i completely forgot about this till mr.potter reminded us today ha. but anyways im gonna get it done so i can get a good grade in english. but so far i kinda like to kill a mockingbird, its still very confusing. but its one of those books that you really get interested in whenever you start reading it deeply. we are almost halfway through this book, but this book will probaly impact my life a little bit. but it teaches some lessons that everybody needs to learn. but anyways i bet mr.potter was really mad when michigan lost, but i cant say much ohio state got their butt kicked. but anyways im tired and going to sleep good nite everybody

so im still finally glad to have that stupid research project done! but now were reading to kill a mockingbird and its pretty confusing. But i like it so far minus the confusion part. but it has its many turns in the book so far. and once you to start to read it you dont want to stop. but anyways i was gonna do my post sunday but my internet was acting up all weekend:/. and then it did the same thing yesterday:/. but anyways english is pretty good so far. but im still super tired so im going back to sleep nite people

finally done with this paper!!!!!!!!!! omg i was so happy to finally be done. it took forever it seemed like, and i did not want to do it in the first place. but it will probaly help me in the long run. im not looking forward to reading to kill a mockingbird. that  book is going to be so boring and predictable. but anyways mr. potters team michigan won in a close battle with indiana. but i didnt watch i was busy not being home to watch tv. but i was home enough to finish and type that paper. ohh im so glad i ahve it done, thats one more thing off my mind and worried about doing. well im tired good night.

Research

so we have been working on this huge research paper for almost 2 weeks and its only get harder. im really going to get annoyed at having to put those citations throughout this paper. its just going to be  a hassle. why cant we just hand in our sources and have the teacher find all the facts for themselves. but english is still good so far, some very interesting people are in my class. but anyways michigan won so i bet mr. potter is happy. maybe hell bump the amount of pages we have to write down a bit(:. 4-6 pages for a research paper seems kind of long to some of us. i dont like researching or writing papers its not my thing. but however the trial i researched was very interesting. did you know that ethel rosenberg survived the first shock of the electric chair!? it blew my mind when i had read that. but anyways im tired night night people.

English 10= very boring

so i still think this blog is pointless. its a big waste of my time. to have to sit here and type for 15-30 mins is still ridiculous. but anyways english 10 is actually very boring so far. but Mr.potter is pretty cool, seems like a nice person. but this research paper has got me a little bit annoyed. i mean why do we have to write a paper about a case that happened in the past. or why do we have to write about a case period? it takes way to much time to do. when we could be spending our time on other things. and i got grounded this weekend and was worried about this stupid blog for english 10. but im getting it done thankfully i want a good grade. i hope this class gets more fun by the end of the year. but us reading to kill a mockingbird is going to SUCK! I've heard so many mixed opinions about this book. and most of the opinions are that the book itself just is so boring. but anyways ive got to get all those note cards done for this stupid research paper. and my case was the case of julius and ethel rosenberg. it seems ok but i was very surprised by some of the things people did during the case. anyways i got to get off my laptop now. bye bye

english 10

so in english 10 we started studying poetry, which i thought was very boring. but some of the poems we read did make sense to me. but i cant beleive that mr. potters likes michigan...., but hes still a pretty cool teacher. but this blog assignment is just ridiculous. i cant think of anything to write about for 15-30mins about english 10. the short story a kind of murder was actually very good, it kept the person interested. but i dont wanna take this quiz/test that we have to take next week. i think that us having to write an essay is kinda pointless, but itll probaly help us in the long run. thank you mr.potter
